What if i fail my senior year

Understanding the steps you can take if you are failing a class right before graduation can help you recover from the fail, or find ways to get back onto the right track, without losing out on too much. Here are some things you can do if you find yourself failing before graduation….

Every institute will have its own set of rules and guidelines on what happens if you fail, and how many classes you can actually fail. Many colleges allow for one or more fails, so if this is your first fail, it should not be too serious. Your professor should be your first port of call if you are failing a class. Most often, professors are receptive to students coming to see them, but make sure to book an appointment or visit them only during their office hours.

Professors might be able to give you some guidance on what you could do to raise your grade in a last-ditch effort. There might be ways to just scrape a pass, or the professor could offer other opportunities for you to gain extra credit. Your professor will be willing to help, as long as the reason you are failing is not from fault of your own, such as skipping class or just not bothering.

If you put in the effort, they will be willing to help. Most campuses have student services that help to consult, mentor, and coach students. There might be a variety of issues as to why you are failing, and you could seek help through student services. Whether it be a mentor or a counselor, student resources will be able to help you overcome any obstacles you might have when it comes to studying and working through your courses.

Again, you should utilize student services to try and find a tutor on campus. Like, would I be rescinded for sure? Or would they have some modicum of understanding since it is a college class? Would my safeties still be safe?

A big state flagship and a less competitive LAC If anyone has experience with something similar that would be helpful. There is a very real possibility of being rescinded with a D or F. Either get extra help or drop the class. Is this class required for graduation from high school? If yes then you are not going to be able to graduate and it does not matter if it is really hard. Answer, the online course was a requirement, the year isnt over yet. Oh, my mistake. The way you worded the title and first sentence made it sound like you had to take the course to make up for something you failed previously. Just go in and explain the situation calmly and rationally. If they can, they'll probably give you a grace period to finish the unit, since the mistake was on their part.

I sure hope so. Ever since I moved o this new school, everything school related has been shit I mis my old school. I mean there they knew me, I have trouble focusing for set periods of time so teachers worked it out, but when I came and spoke the the ones here they gave me this "If you can't keep up with the rest of the students then you need to try harder" shit.

Yeah, because I can just magically change my attention span like I change my clothes. This goes back to the sb debate about the school systems we had. HighwindPilot White Mage.

Madonna It's a beautiful dream, but a dream is earned Veteran. I feel bad for you! School systems really suck this days, no joking. My High School has a higher birth rate than a graduation rate, and no one cares. People kick computers put gum everywhere, and start fights that end in blood.

And nobody cares. Oh, and I almost failed a computer class that was completely online because our stupid teacher, who I have again this year is a dumby who never ever explains anything. And he doesn't care either! Good thing it's my last year and I'd be going crazy at all the not caring that's going on.

I hope it turns out well for you. It seems clear cut that it is their fault. Admin Support. However, I still feel like it might be worth it because this is my last chance for colleges to see the rigor of classes I took in comparison to the rest of my class. How would I go about sending my transcript with my senior year schedule in order for them to know I am taking 4 APs?

And if for instance, if i was accepted in a school, would the second semester grades change their acceptance or interfere with any financial aid? I am concerned that the work load will be much to keep a strong GPA, but I am hoping that at that point it won't really matter because I will already be accepted and hopefully have all the financial aid stuff settled. I am not sure if that is how it works, but any clarification would help so much.

Hi there! It's great that you're thinking about things like course balance ahead of time. It is a very valid concern that senior year might be stressful with more APs and college applications.

Colleges will see your senior year course load that way, and will also be sent a mid-year report and final transcript from your counselor. Your fall transcript will also likely list in-progress courses.

Basically, don't worry - colleges will know what courses you're taking senior year! If you have a slight drop in grades, nothing will likely happen, but if you go from an A average to a C average or worse, that's cause for concern.

If you don't think you can get a B or higher in your AP classes while submitting quality college apps, then you may want to take less rigorous courses. Taking AP classes but performing poorly or having to submit rushed applications won't reflect well on your candidacy.

That said, it is possible that taking 4 APs will be more manageable than you expect, especially if the courses are in subjects you enjoy and tend to do well in and if you've already taken lots of honors courses. Maybe ask students at your school who have taken the classes to get a general feel for course difficulty.

Just remember that everyone's experience is different, and consider the different opinions carefully. I am re considering my math, english, and science classes:.
